My plan did not work

So yea, I was hoping that a certain Think post of mine would get activists of the PES (Socialists) riled up and start arguing, but it didn’t. So my plan did not work. In fact I had a PES blogger agreeing with me! What it did point out is that PES activists seem to be the same as most voters in the European Election and ignore most of the campiagning done at the European level. Who really cares if...

Th!nk09: People don’t know what MEP’s do

On Monday after the Fine Gael Ard Fheis, UCC Young Fine Gael had a walk about in Cork City for Sean Kelly, a Fine Gael candidate in Ireland South. One member of the public asked to meet Sean Kelly, he was introduced. What was his question? Go on take a guess. Can you get me a house? Yes, in typical Irish fashion, his question was on the housing lists which plague this country. This is something so sitting or...

Bludget: Are we flucked?

So the bludget is tomorrow and as my boss said, the country is flucked! The Government cannot put the blame for this tough budget on outside forces. They have been in Government now for nearly 12 years and must share some of the blame. I was at a fundraising lunch on Friday for Colm Burke and the Guest speakers were Pat Cox and Brian Lucy. Coming out of that lunch I was depressed. Its not looking good for us....

So much for Independent State Broadcaster

So tonight RTÉ apologised for the airing of the report about the Nude Pictures of Brian Cowen last night. The Government seam to be trying to censor RTÉ at all times and this is the second one I know of. The first is Ministers been given a g0-over in interviews. Suzy has of course the full catalogue of pressure RTÉ are under from the Government. Slugger have a PR from Dublin North Fianna Fail TD Michael Kennedy which gives...

Taoiseach Answers Our Questions

Image via Wikipedia Well, Brian Cowen did answer some of the questions posed by the public to him in his online Q&A, try and keep your eyes open during the video’s. I think that is the harder task, I didn’t realise he was that boring, and people give out to me that Enda is boring (he is but Cowen is worse in these videos). And if you are wondering, he didn’t answer my “loaded” question. The videos are all...

Paddy’s Day Junkets

This of course does not include Local Councillors heading off for it. Here is the full list. Taoiseach (Brian Cowen) and Minister for Foreign Affairs (Micheal Martin) – New York and Washington D.C. Minister for Finance (Brian Lenihan) – London Minister for Agriculture and Food (Brendan...

Yet another budget!

Image via Wikipedia So the PR early budget didnt work and it seams it is time we had a new budget. The current budget has only fully been in force for two months!!! If thats not FAIL I don’t know what is. Fine Gael are calling for massive “overhaul” – read cuts – in the public sector and they have a point that there is a lot of waste that does need to be cut out at the top...

New Element Discovered – Governmentium

January 16, 2009
By Stephen

Got this in an email and I had to post it. Lawrence Livermore Laboratories has discovered the heaviest element yet known to science. The new element, Governmentium (Gv), has one neutron, 25 assistant neutrons, 88 deputy neutrons, and 198 assistant deputy neutrons, giving it an atomic mass of 312. These 312 particles are held together by forces called morons, which are surrounded by vast quantities of lepton-like particles called peons. Since Governmentium has no electrons, it is inert; however,...
