The first poll of the Campaign

The Irish Independent have a Millward Browne poll for tomorrow. This will be the first poll of the campaign and it will be interesting to see if the figures change much during the campaign. The topline figures are:

  • Fianna Fail 16%
  • Fine Gael 30%
  • Labour 24%
  • Green Party 1%
  • Sinn Fein 13%
  • Other 15%

Adrian Kavanagh on politicalreform has done is usual great job and has worked out the seat distribution. It would work out as follows:

  • Fianna Fail 23
  • Fine Gael 64
  • Labour 45
  • Green Party 0
  • Sinn Fein 14
  • Others 20

An interesting result with two options, a Fine Gael/Labour Government or a Fine Gael/Fianna Fail Government. Its going to be a fun ride!

I will endeavour to keep track of all the major polls during the campaign.
