Im just looking at the results of the Eurovision Voting. Ireland came 11th in the televote vote just missing out. Well done Girls!
We got 52 votes in total including 10 points from Spain! Croatia who came 13th in our semi were the ones saved by the Jury.
The Irish vote in the Semi was dominated by our new migrants. 12 points went to Lithuania, 10 Points went to Poland and only 8 Points to Norway in the Semi.
In the first Semi, Finland were saved by the jury, which I think is surprising. Iceland won this semi with 174 points just beating Turkey by 2 points!
Norway of course qualified easily in our Semi with 201 points who went on to win the Final with a record breaking 387 points. They receieved 12 points from 15 countries and they recieved points from every participating country. The lowest being 2 points from Turkey.
I think you could see the Jurys having an influence in how the voting went and I hope they retain this system.
So tonight see the final of the 54th Eurovision Song Contest in Moscow. 25 countries will be competing for the glory and the right to host the contest next year. So who is in the Final? (In running order)

I am not going to predict anything tonight as the Final is near impossible to predict, but I will give my top 5. In no particular order:
Alexander Rybak is favourite to win, but I think its all hype. They will do well, but will it be enough to bring it to Oslo?
Germany have a fantastic entry this year with Alex Swings Oscar Sings. They also have Dita Von Teese dancing with them, so it will be a great perfromance.
Portugal’s Flor-De-Lis did fantastic on Tuesday night and could do really well. Portugal has been in the Eurovision since 1974 and has never won it so its about time I think!
Svetlana gave a great performance on Thursday and its a good song. Could do well.
Will Chiara make it third time lucky for Malta? Its a nice song could do and got a good reaction.
Well last nights semi was very surprising, only 1 of my predictions got through and that was Turkey, which means no Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, Norway, Denmark or Andorra (my favourites). I voted for Andorra and Denmark, I think my predictions are a kiss of death. I got 4 right last year. Anyway the final is on tomorrow night on RTÉ2 and BBC 2 at 8:00pm. I shall be Instinct watching it on the big screen, so if your around come say hi! Now I’ll run through the finalists, with links to their songs and their betting odds from paddypower.com.
Spain is represented by D’nash with ‘I love you mi vida’. Really upbeat song, surprised its so low in the odds, as one of the big four its guaranteed to be in the final next year. A song that I really like!
The first to qualifiers from last nights semi-final, meant to pick this to get through but too late now…. I missed the performance as i was rushing home from work, but Dmitry Koldun obviously impressed with ‘Work Your Magic’
Have to show the video, its the Irish entry! Its Dervish with ‘They Can’t Stop The Spring’. Not in my opinion a great Eurovision song, but they’ve done a lot of work on it and its sounding great! Could do well as Dervish are known on the continent!
One of this years favourites (and my mums!) its Sweden represented by the Ark with ‘The worrying kind’. With the ESC move next door to Sweden? I hope so, my hopes are on this one at the moment (Spillane kiss of death again?) come on Sweden!!!!!!!!
One of the best French entries in recent years! They are represented by Les Fatals Picards with ‘L’amour à la française’. I really like. As ferance is part of the bug four they are automatically in next year!
This year the Ukraine are represented by Verka Serdyuchka with ‘Dancing Lasha Tumbai’. Very strange song, but fun! Its a guy btw… there was war over that!!! They are also the favourites i think (I get very confused with odds like 7-2!)
